Tyler and Maggie get married in Palm Springs {Portland and Los Angeles Wedding Photographer}
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Maggie through working with her at her family’s farm on Sauvie Island. Topaz Farm is a stunning farm just outside of Portland and throughout the summers offers a variety of outdoor events like live music and farm to table dinners. I have adored her entire family and love each event I get to photograph. Needless to say, when I got a text from Maggie asking if I shoot weddings, I responded with a yes. When she asked if there’s any way I would travel to Palm Springs in February as they’re having the wedding at a ranch there, OMG i could not contain my excitement and absolutely yelled out “ABSOLUTELY YES!!!” (sorry Maggie, I know I probably burst your ear drums!). Palm Springs in February as it’s cold as all get out in Oregon? Yes please.
I went to check out the super cute Lazy C Ranch in Palm Springs on the Friday before the wedding; I like to scout locations for family portraits, bridal party portraits and couple portraits the day before if possible as it makes it so much easier to gather everyone and get those portraits done in a timely manner.
The ranch is at right at the foot of the mountains (I see you San Jacinto) and those beautiful mountains were drenched in snow. There are also some super cute houses on the property which makes for a great weekend for family and friends to stay together, get to know one another and have so much fun bonding. As I walked around, I met all the horses and animals on property, got to say hello to the families and pick out some pretty spots for all of the portraits.
Wedding day couldn’t have been more beautiful! Clear skies and warm sun made for stunning portraits. Once that sun went behind the giant mountains however, it got chilly! Thankful for puffy jackets and venues with heaters.
The wedding went off without a hitch, a beautiful day, and it looks like everyone had an absolute BLAST!
Forever thankful for clients like Maggie and Tyler who allow me to capture their day, and take me in like family.
